What shipped
OpenAI gave its first GPT-6 models to paying customers in September 2026. On 7 October, ChatGPT Plus, Pro and Business got GPT-6 Sol and Intelligent UI; on Enterprise an admin turns them on. From 8 October, Free and Go got the lighter GPT-6 Luna. Intelligent UI means an answer can come back as an interface: charts, buttons, forms and editable calculators render inside the chat. The amount of visuals is adjustable. OpenAI itself says the model's design judgment still needs work.
What it means for an owner
Anyone on your team can build a margin calculator or a sales chart in five minutes. Useful, but now the company has different models (some on free plans, some on paid), different numbers, and calculations nobody checked against the books. The management question is simple: which calculations are official, and where does their data come from.
What to do this week
- Ask the team who uses what, on which plan. List personal free accounts that hold company data.
- Set one rule: what never goes into chat (customer personal data, bank statements, contracts). Check the data training settings on the accounts in use.
- Take one recurring calculation (deal margin, sales bonus) and have it built as a calculator in chat. Check it against your spreadsheet on three real cases.
- Decisions based on a chart from chat only when the source numbers are visible.
Your people stay. What changes is how much of their week goes into manual calculations.
